St. Paul Jaycees Best 100 Juried Art Exhibition

Started in 1957, this year is the 55th anniversary of the Les Farrington Best 100 Juried Art Exhibition. The Les Farrington Best 100 Juried Art Exhibition invites Saint Paul area high school art students, grades 9 through 12, to submit their original artwork for competition to be judged by a panel of three jurors from the art community. The Best 100 pieces will be publicly exhibited in the AZ Gallery from Thursday, March 8, 2012 through Saturday March 31, 2012. An awards ceremony will be held on the evening of exhibition opening, Thursday March 8, 2012. Students will be honored for their artwork by receiving award certificates and various cash scholarships (totaling $4,400) according to three award categories: Special, Merit and Honorable Mention. This juried exhibition is one of the only non-school sponsored opportunities for students interested in art to compete against their peers.

As a civic organization for young people, the Saint Paul Jaycees are developing the next generation of leaders by providing opportunities to stand up and take initiative in their community. We engage young people ages 18-40 through project management and social entrepreneurship that will make an impact in their communities and build leadership skills.

Jaycees around the state are responsible for organizing hundreds of community festivals, fundraisers for other nonprofits, and creating opportunities for community members to engage with one another. Our Mission is to provide the opportunity for young individuals to develop the leadership skills, social responsibility, entrepreneurship and fellowship necessary to create positive change.
